John McManus is a business-building, editorial and digitalcontent strategist, with four decades of award-winning experience in New York-in Washington, DC-based media organizations. He worked at Hanley Wood Media for16 years, where until mid-2020, he served as Vice President, Editorial Directorfor the Residential Content Group. In that role, accountability included Builderdigital, print, and in-person editorial and programming portfolio, as well asstrategic content direction and team leader management for Affordable HousingFinance, Aquatics International, Big Builder, Custom Home, the Journal of LightConstruction, Multifamily Executive, Pool & Spa News, Professional DeckBuilder, ProSales, Remodeling, Replacement Contractor, and Tools of the Trade.Prior to his joining the Hanley Wood team in 2004, John led editorial directionfor Primedia’s American Demographics, Folio:, and Cable World titles. Earlier,he was founding editor of Adweek Magazine’s BrandWeek, as well as working as areporter at Ad Age.
